The external environment delivers input such as news, music, jobs, relationships, weather ..... Our internal environment provides input concerning movement,
digestion, Sometimes there is just too much input...too much stimuli...too many sensations. The conscious mind can not process the information and the unconscious mind prepares for "fight or flight". Our blood pressure rises, adrenaline races through our body, our hearts beat faster - we're prepared for a confrontation! But what happens when there is nothing to fight? We can't physically fight the boss or the person who took that parking space. Nor can run away. We can't eliminate all stressful situations, they are just part of life. What we can do is alter our perceptions and our physical reactions to stress. Hypnosis allows us to speak to the subconscious mind and "suggest"
healthful changes. We develop "coping mechanisms" by changing
our perceptions!
